The SSRA1 Canada Edition is the 4.5 lb solid-aluminum seam clamp that gives one worker a 5,000 lb tie-off point on a standing seam metal roof without a single hole. Twelve set screws grip the seam, a swivel D-ring lets you work both sides of the ridge, and it fits more than 500 steel standing seam profiles — about 95% of the market — with no adapter plates. Choose cupped-tip or nylon-tipped screws for your panel, in singles or contractor 10-packs.

Why roofers specify the SSRA1 standing seam roof anchor

Other seam anchors need bulky adapter plates or disassembly to fit a profile. The SSRA1's patented one-piece body sets over the seam, the screws snug down with the included hex bit, and you are tied off in minutes — no drilling, no sealant, nothing through the panel. The same anchor body later takes SSRA2 roof jacks or the SSRA3 anchor plate, so one purchase grows into a walkboard support or a horizontal lifeline end anchor.

SSRA1 cupped-tip or nylon-tipped set screws: which to order

  • Cupped Tipped — stainless cupped-tip set screws for 22 gauge bare steel panels
  • Nylon Tipped — nylon-tipped set screws, required on 24 gauge panels and the choice for painted, Kynar or PVDF finishes you don't want marked
  • Never mix the two screw types in one anchor; nylon tips are a consumable — inspect before each install

How to install the SSRA1 on a standing seam metal roof

  • Set the anchor body over the seam — no assembly required.
  • Snug the 12 set screws with the included 3/16 in hex bit and tighten per the owner's manual.
  • Clip a shock-absorbing lanyard or SRL to the swivel D-ring; one worker per anchor.
  • Add SSRA2 roof jacks or the SSRA3 anchor plate to the same body when the job calls for it.

Is the SSRA1 CSA certified? Compliance in Canada

The SSRA1 is tested to OSHA 1926 Subpart M, OSHA 1910, ANSI Z359.1 and ANSI A10.32 requirements. It is not CSA Z259 certified — confirm acceptance with your provincial authority or site safety officer on CSA-governed sites, and have a qualified person confirm the seam and roof structure can carry the anchor load.
