Match The Snow Guard To Your Panel

Standing seam roofs take adhesive snow guards or clamp-on SnoBar® rails — nothing pierces the panel, so the roof warranty stays intact. Screw-down (exposed-fastener) roofs take gasketed screw-down guards or bolt-through rails anchored into the purlins. Both ship from Paris, Ontario in Canadian dollars, duty-free.

For Standing Seam Roofs — No Holes In The Panel

Raised seams, hidden fasteners. Adhesive guards bond to the panel flat with SB-190 structural adhesive; SnoBar® rails clamp the seam with nylon-tipped set screws. Either way, the panel — and its warranty — stays untouched.

For Screw-Down Roofs — Gasketed, Sealed, Immediate Hold

Exposed-fastener panels (PBR, AG panel, R-panel, corrugated) already have screws through the metal — so snow guards fasten the same way, with gaskets and sealed washers into the purlins. Mechanical hold from day one, any season.

Quick answers

Standing Seam vs Screw-Down, Answered

How do I tell if my roof is standing seam or screw-down?

Look at the panel face. If you see neat rows of screw heads across the metal, it's a screw-down (exposed-fastener) roof. If the surface is clean and the panels join at raised vertical ribs with no visible screws, it's standing seam.

Can I use adhesive snow guards on a screw-down roof?

You can bond to the panel flat, but on an exposed-fastener roof there's rarely a reason to: screw-down guards cost the same, hold immediately and install in any season. The EcoJax hybrid gives you both attachments at once.

Will clamp-on rails void my standing seam panel warranty?

No — that's the point of clamp-on. Stainless clamps with nylon-tipped set screws grip the seam without piercing the metal, so the panel manufacturer's finish and weathertightness warranties are preserved.

Do screw-down snow guards leak?

Not when installed correctly. Our screw-down guards and rail brackets include gaskets or gasket tape and sealed washers, fastened into the structure the same way the roof's own screws are — the attachment is no leakier than the panel itself.

Pads or rails — which do I actually need?

It depends on your roof's size, pitch and your region's ground snow load — there's no safe universal answer. Send us your roof details and town and we'll spec it for you in a free warrantied quote, usually within one business day.
