Do snow guards work on standing seam metal roofs?
Yes. Adhesive polycarbonate guards bond directly to the panel flat, and SnoBar® rail systems clamp to the seams with no roof penetrations. Clamp-on systems fit roughly 95% of standing seam profiles sold in Canada.
Should I choose adhesive or screw-down snow guards?
Adhesive guards suit standing seam and panels you can't penetrate; screw-down guards with gaskets suit exposed-fastener roofs and give immediate hold. In heavy snowbelt regions or on long rafter runs, step up to a rail system — we'll confirm the right choice in your warrantied quote.
When can adhesive snow guards be installed in Canada?
Install in warm weather. SB-190 adhesive needs sustained temperatures above about 10 °C (50 °F) to cure, and reaches full strength over roughly 28 days — so plan summer or early-fall installation, before the first snowfall loads the roof.
Do you ship across Canada? Are there duties?
We ship to every province and territory from our warehouse in Paris, Ontario. Prices are in Canadian dollars and stock is already in Canada, so there are no duties, brokerage fees or border delays.
What's the difference between pad-style and bar-style snow retention?
Pad-style guards (SnoBlox, SnowCatcher) are individual units spread across the roof in staggered rows — economical and discreet. Bar-style systems (SnoBar®, ColorBar®) run continuous 1.8 m (6 ft) rails — single or double bar — that hold the entire snowfield: the choice for heavy loads, long runs and commercial roofs.
