The SnoBlox Ace is the large clear polycarbonate snow guard for metal roofs: a 5 in wide, 3 in tall face on a patented waffled base that needs only a 3 in flat to mount — so it drops between the minor ribs of a screw-down panel or onto a standing seam pan without straddling a rib. Sold here as single guards so you can order the exact count from your layout.

SnoBlox Ace snow guard: big face, 3 in footprint

Most large guards need a wide flat area. The Ace puts a full 5 in face on a base only 3 in wide, which is why it is the pick for PBR and other screw-down panels with 3 in of flat between the ribs, and for any standing seam pan with at least 3 in of flat. On 9 in R-panel, SnoBlox-Snojax recommends the smaller SnoBlox Deuce instead.

When to buy SnoBlox Ace snow guards as singles

  • Topping up a layout to the exact number
  • Replacing damaged guards on an existing roof
  • Mixed layouts — Ace rows where the pan allows, Deuce rows where it doesn't

How to mount the SnoBlox Ace: screw-down or SB-190 adhesive

  • Screw-down — two 1.5 in metal purlin screws or two 2 in wood purlin screws with sealant; installs year-round with cold-weather sealant. The screwed-down Ace held 4,849 lb in ATI testing.
  • SB-190 adhesive — the waffled base increases bond area; held 1,449 lb in ATI testing. Adhesive needs 28 days above 10 °C (50 °F) to fully cure, so it is a warm-season install only.
  • Screws-and-sealant or SB-190 packs are offered at checkout on orders of 25 guards or more.

SnoBlox Ace installation on metal roofs at a glance

  • Snow guards work as full-length rows up the slope, not as a cluster above one chimney, vent or doorway — the free layout maps the rows.
  • Centre each Ace between the minor ribs on screw-down panels; keep the base on a smooth, flat section of pan.
  • Order the count from your engineered layout, then add a few spares.
